Dear Julie, I am pleased that your appointments went well.
With the wrist splints can your Occupational Therapist adjust the ones that you
bought for yourself too?
I used to wear wrist splints for several years and bought myself some nice black ones
but they were never really adjusted to fit me properly, so I relied on the
Hospital ones day and night.
I found that the Hospital ones came with a metal bar inside them, but the metal was fairly soft
and would "bend" and need to be refitted for me.
Over several appointments I amassed many pairs of splints, so that I always had a good
fitting pair available!
Eventually, I had Carpel Tunnel surgery, as I had developed Carpel Tunnel Syndrome,
and from then til now I have not needed wrist splints.
I do remember that my wrist splints gave me a lot of relief in my hands and hope
that yours will do the same for you.
Best wishes,
Fiona
